As part of New York Comic-Con, a panel was held today for Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham that featured the likes of Geoff Johns, Kevin Smith, the voice of Batman himself, Troy Baker, and star of “Arrow” Stephen Amell. All were on hand to reveal a ton of new content to the now exactly one month away Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham.
First up is the new character introductions: Darkest Knight Batman, Solar Suit Superman, Condiment King (an obscure character pulled from Batman: The Animated series,) Man Bat and Green Loontern, a Green Lantern version of Daffy Duck that appeared in an episode of Duck Dodgers.
Appearing along side real world personalities Kevin Smith and Geoff Johns will be Jim Lee, an incredible talent in the comic industry who really needs no introductions but credits include Justice League and Superman Unchained among many, MANY others. Late night personality Conan O’Brien will also join a Lego game for the first time as a playable character, and will serve as a guide through the games environments.
This version of Lego Batman will be the first to have additional content in the form of new levels and characters, with the first three being based on the films the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight, as well as the Batman anniversary pack. After these packs were first announced, I put together a wishlist of content I’d like to see added, and I got my number one wish with the just unveiled “Arrow” pack.
The pack will include a new mission, on top of new characters Felicity Smoak, Diggle, Slade Wilson (AKA Deathstroke,) the Sarah Lance version of Black Canary, Roy Harper, Helena Bertinelli (AKA The Huntress,) and Malcolm Merlyn. As a reminder, all the DLC will unfortunately not be available for those picking up the game on either the Wii U, the 3DS or the PS Vita.
