As if Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham wasn’t grand enough in scope, shooting the Dark Knight out of his comfort zone and into the stars with the rest of the Justice League, TT Games will be producing six additional expansion packs with three available at launch and the rest still “TBD.” Unlike previous Lego games that just added new characters and skins, of which these will have too totaling 40 new characters in all, the content provides new levels as well. On November 11th along with the game you can buy the three following packs at a cost of $2.99 each:
THE DARK KNIGHT PACK: This will feature new missions set in the universe created by Christopher Nolan where the main protagonists will be Lego Christian Bale Batman and Gary Oldman Commissioner Gordon. Purchasing this also grants access to the Joker, his minions, Catwoman as well as Bane in their Nolan-verse attire.
THE MAN OF STEEL PACK: Say what you will about the “Man of Steel” film from 2013, but even those who don’t particularly like the movie will agree that the opening section on Krypton was incredibly cool. With the Man of Steel pack you’ll be able to play a Lego-fied version of the opening of the film that spawned the cinematic DC Universe and take on the role of Jor-El, Lara, and their robotic companion Kelex as they try to jettison their son to the safety of earth and away from the clutches of General Zod.
THE BATMAN 75TH PACK: As part of the celebration of the anniversary of the Batman character in the pages of Detective Comics, the final pack sees Joker and his hench-wench Harley Quinn setting up a surprise celebration for their favorite foe. Included in this is a variety of Batmen throughout the year, including a fig modeled after his first appearance.
These are just the first three in a planned series of six, and those who want to roll the dice on what the next three will be (c’mon Green Arrow!) you can buy early access to the above three and the remainder for $14.99. In determining which platform you wish to buy this game on, bear in mind that these packs are exclusive to the PlayStation, Xbox and PC SKU’s minus the PSVita.
