Injustice: Gods Among us was a huge hit for Netherrealm Studios and WB Games: The game sold millions of copies, spawned a mobile spin-off with over a million downloads, a prequel comic series and an entirely new universe and interpretation of some of DC’s most iconic heroes. Last fall it made the jump to the now current generation of consoles in the ultimate edition on PS4, collecting the entire game combined with the DLC characters and challenges into one complete package, but the question is would we see a new Injustice built ground up for the PS4/Xbox One? If the rumor mill is correct, it’s in the pipeline.
Furious Fanboys picked up a comment from a panel at WonderCon about WB Games other project, this fall’s Batman: Arkham Knight, that a return to the Injustice universe was in order, though no details on when it’s coming or who is making it was formally provided. Given the success of Injustice to DC as a multimedia franchise, this comes as little to no surprise and more exceptional DC themed games to look forward to is always a good thing.
